yes, we met on a dating app.

i was in taiwan when i decided to download the app. i was jet-lagged + thought a fun

way to pass the time was to judge different prospects by swiping left + right.

i came upon calvin, and i guess i swiped right (because here we are!).

we matched + started texting immediately. 

after playing the texting game of 'wait-a-couple-hours-before-texting-back' for a couple days,

calvin finally decided to ask me on a date.

at the time, he was living in fort worth + i was in dallas.

so like the gentleman he is, we decided to have our first date in dallas.

sidenote: apparently the distance was important though because i found out later on that he was contemplating on standing me up (which i have yet to let him off the hook for)!

since i had just traveled internationally alone when we matched (aka didn't need a man),

i decided to ask all the questions you aren't supposed to ask on the first date.

i had to make sure he checked off all my boxes!

our first date (or interview, as calvin would call it) lasted four hours. + to my surprise calvin kept up with all of my questions. as it turns out, he liked that it was more like an interview.

two and a half years later. we continued to fall more in love.
